At least four dead in Canada shooting

Police have since confirmed "there is no further threat to the public", and said lockdowns were no longer required.

Darren Hill, an owner of a business located a block from the scene, said a profound sense of sadness has descended on Fredericton. "We were very close to one another, we spent all of our free time together". I can't believe that two law enforcement officers have passed and two citizens. "Now we're becoming the story that nobody wants to hear".

He heard more similar noises about five minutes later.

Around an hour after giving first word of the killings, a second and then a third message from police said: "At this time, we can confirm that we have one suspect in custody" and "of the four people killed in this morning's shootings on Brookside Drive, two were Fredericton police officers". The suspect, who has not been identified, was being treated for serious injuries. "It's a little off-putting that way, and I've been here for about a year". Most of the apartment buildings near the site of the shooting were family dwellings.

CBC News has tweeted that four fatalities from the shooting are being reported. Donavan said she had already received a call from her husband Jim, who had left earlier. Stay inside, lock your doors.

Russian Federation 'is ready for economic war with US' over sanctions
A Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said Thursday the new sanctions represent a fresh attempt to " demonize Russia". The sanctions enacted so far this year, and the threat of more, have already inflicted pain on Russia's middle class.

"An incident has resulted in at least four people killed".

"I deal with death and dying every day", Macleod said, but added that the morning's events were still "shocking".

The area he's called home for a year, which features houses, a school and other hallmarks of a peaceful residential community, is the last place Hrubeniuk said he expected to encounter a unsafe situation.

Tim Morehouse, a resident of the neighbourhood, said he was in his apartment when he heard someone shout: "Shut up!"

Many police forces lowered their flags to half-mast, and political leaders of every stripe offered their condolences.

"This is the worst moment for any chief of police in any police agency, to have to deliver this news", police Chief Leanne Fitch said at an afternoon news conference. She was told to keep all the passengers on her bus.

"With the tempo, it might've been a gunshot", he told CBC. There was basically three dead people laying there.
