Harvick gets "Lucky 7th" win at MI

Harvick swept the day winning the first two stages and then taking the checkered flag. The green flag will drop around 2:30pm.

What made matters worse during the pit stop was that the team was penalized a lap for an uncontrolled tire. Harvick won all three stages of the race for his series-leading seventh victory of the season. Prior to that, Jeff Gordon turned in an incredible streak of three consecutive seasons with the mark - 1996 (10 wins), 1997 (10 wins) and 1998 (13 wins).

The Daytona win locked Dillon into the playoffs 22 races ago, but the team's recent struggles partly are because it's been leveraging the guarantee of contending for the title against experimenting with unconventional setups. "I go to each weekend as a reset point, thinking and feeling as though this could be the weekend where we have the speed to win that way or can execute that way, and I think you have to. I certainly wish we had a tick more but, you know, overall, a good day for us".

"As it turns out, we needed to be more prepared and you can see the results across the Chevrolet camp". Roberts also nailed Hamlin at 40-1 to win at Watkins Glen later that year.

Harvick had a special ride to Gatorade Victory Lane. After deciding to wait inside his dad's vehicle during the Victory Lane champagne spray bath, he ultimately climbed out and playfully splashed a water bottle on Harvick's business manager standing nearby. We've got to find that little bit of performance.

"We're three weeks away from the playoffs", Harvick said. It's pretty cool to look over there on your victory lap and see your six-year-old in the passenger seat and being able to enjoy it with you.

Ford claimed the Michigan Heritage Trophy thanks to the win by Harvick.

Trump Doubles Tariffs on Turkish Steel, Aluminum Imports
Turkey is front and center of the chaos on Friday, with its currency plunging to a record low against the U.S. dollar. Harsher US tariffs were likely to punish Turkey's already faltering steel exports to the United States.

Who Had a Good Day: Keselowski tied his best finish of the season when he came home second at Atlanta in the second race of the year...

Rounding out the top five were Brad Keselowski in second, Kyle Busch in third, Austin Dillion in fourth and Ryan Blaney in fifth. Erik Jones managed a 13th-place finish after spinning two times on Sunday.

Two cars were taken from each manufacturer.: Kevin Harvick and Brad Keselowski (Ford), Austin Dillon and Chase Elliott (Chevy) and Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin (Toyota).

Things barely got going again, with Kyle Busch prevailing in a battle with Kevin Harvick for the lead, when the caution flag came out again.

Busch has won six races this year and Martin Truex Jr. has finished in first four times. He was followed by Bowyer and a lap later, Harvick and Keselowski. He held that spot until the end of the first stage.

Truex was running with the leaders during the second stage before running out of gas and going into the pits, which were closed. Behind Harvick on the NASCAR at MI odds board is Kyle Busch, who's listed at 7-2. Still, he has an average finish of 11.11 at the track and a driver rating of 96.2 here. Ford is not only returning home to its global corporate offices in MI, the manufacturer is having a newsworthy week with the recent unveiling of the new Mustang for the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series.
