It has been a awful couple of days for Celtic, as they have experienced drama on and off the field.

Rodgers concedes that he can't be certain if Boyata will be mentally or physically ready to play any part in Tuesday night's Champions League qualifier second-leg against AEK Athens.

He has improved a lot under Brendan Rodgers.

Chris Sutton has told Celtic they need to bring in a quality centre-back as soon as possible because Dedryck Boyata must be sold.

"On January 1, he will sign elsewhere by being free, without reporting anything to Celtic", revealed Lichtenstein.

FENENRBACHE have had a bid for Dedryck Boyata rejected by Celtic, according to reports in Turkey.

Spurs , whose starting 11 contained many players who were involved in the latter stages of the World Cup, later faded. Even so, the Magpies offered next to nothing as an attacking force that day and were always clinging on for a point.

"Celtic have not responded to the interest of other clubs". Meeting requests have been refused.

The former Liverpool boss is confident that Boyata will not leave Celtic in the summer transfer window.

Boyata's agent Jacques Lichtenstein suggested at the weekend that the defender is "disappointed" with Celtic's decision to block a £9m bid from Fulham, which he claims broke an earlier promise made by the Scottish champions.

The 27-year-old has since denied that he is refusing to play for the club, tweeting out a video of himself receiving treatment for an injury.

Rodgers is understandably trying to keep hold of the instrumental defender, who was played 103 times for the club since his move from Manchester City in 2015.

The Belgium worldwide is missing Tuesday's Champions League qualifier at AEK Athens and says it is down to injury.
