M-Net is also working on the first South African version of The Bachelor and it will debut in 2019.

Cape Town - American broadcast network ABC have announced that 26-year-old virgin, Colton Underwood will be the next star of The Bachelor.

Following their split, Colton took to Instagram with nothing but kind words for his ex. "Thank you for teaching me even more about myself, and most importantly, for your friendship that I know will continue far beyond Paradise", Colton wrote. Fans would have preferred other guys from Becca's season like Jason Tartick or Blake Horstmann, and took to Twitter to express their displeasure.

And NO I will NOT be a contestant on Colton's season.

The Bachelor Season 23 will premiere in January.

Colton Underwood is getting another shot at love.

A policeman called as a prosecution witness testified that his commander had ordered that documents be planted on the journalists. Reuters published the results of the journalists' investigation in February, after Wa Lone and Kyaw Soe Oo were already detained.

Underwood, a former National Football League player, also previously dated Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman before appearing on "The Bachelorette". "That's what I'm hoping for".

While Underwood only finished fourth, he made a name for himself on the show, telling "Bachelorette" Becca Kufrin both that he was a virgin and that, prior to appearing on "The Bachelorette", he dated Kufrin's friend and former "Bachelor" co-contestant Tia Booth.

"I don't want to be over-confident but I feel like we're in a good place", she said in the preview clip.

After that, he and Tia were one of the most solid couples in Paradise, until Monday's show when he revealed to Canadian Kevin Wendt that he was having second thoughts about their future and realized she wasn't the one for him. Colton broke down in tears while breaking up with Tia.

Are you looking forward to Underwood's turn as the Bachelor? 'He played professionally for three teams before an injury forced him to retire. When he's not working on his charity, he's spending time with his family and his dog, Sniper'.
