Trump Jr. began by questioning whether the op-ed was really written by a "senior official" in the Trump Administration.

Woodward replied that these "political statements", denying the quotes in the book, were designed "to protect their jobs". If I did I would not have been elected President.

Trump talked about raising taxes on the rich repeatedly during his campaign for the presidency, and former Trump adviser Steven Bannon reportedly advocated for a top rate of 44 percent on people who earn more than $5 million a year as he pushed for a more populist version of the tax legislation.

The piece's publication has coincided with revelations from a new book by veteran journalist Bob Woodward that depicts a chaotic White House in which some aides have even removed papers from Trump's desk to prevent him from taking what they believe to be unwarranted actions.

"People who are well respected in this administration have come out and denied it", he said. But Trump's attacks may have backfired after the Woodward's publisher said Monday it had reprinted his book an astounding six times before it's even gone on sale to the public.

"We are in Crazytown", General Kelly is quoted telling a small group of confidants.

But when asked who he himself trusts, Trump Jr. said he'd "keep that to myself", but commented that he does trust people outside his family.

"I'm not because I know what I did and I'm not anxious about it", he said, again denying that he spoke to his father about his June 2016 Trump Tower sit-down with a Russian lawyer promising dirt on Hillary Clinton.

Woodward portrays Trump's White House as chaotic, unpredictable, and full of staffers who disrespect the president and talk behind his back in "Fear" of being overheard.

However, he admitted the investigation has taken a personal toll on him, but he's able to "compartmentalize it".

"And that's how you end the book", Colbert said.

Trump also tweeted out a quote from a Washington Examiner writer.

"Fear: Trump in the White House" hits USA bookstores on Tuesday after a weeklong buildup, with published excerpts, leaks and interviews that portray Mr Trump as dangerously erratic and uninformed.

"It was clear that Trump did not understand the way the United States government debt cycle balance sheet worked", Woodward wrote.

Speaking with far-left Today Show co-host Savannah Guthrie, the legendary Watergate reporter sounded the alarm about how President Trump is jeopardizing national security and the economy. "I think it's probably six to a dozen people".
