Dubbed the iPhone Xs, the new base model of Apple's flagship phone has 5.8-inch, rounded "super retina" screen composed of what executives called "the most durable glass ever in a smartphone".

One new feature these phones will support is for dual SIM cards, allowing iPhone users to support two carriers in a single device. Although the iPhone X didn't fulfill analysts' lofty sales expectations, it fared well enough for Apple to up the ante with the bigger model, whose price is expected to unveil Wednesday.

Philip W. Schiller, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Marketing of Apple, speaks about the the new Apple iPhone XS and XS Max at an Apple Inc product launch event at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California, U.S., September 12, 2018. Rogers and Telus aren't part of the launch.

If confirmed, the 6.5in iPhone XS Max is expected to be the company's most expensive to date, surpassing the £999 iPhone X introduced this time a year ago. We'll be there to bring back all the news, of course, as well as analysis, but if you're wanting to watch the show yourself, Apple is live-streaming it online. The silicone cases will come in midnight blue, white, black, stone, and Product RED.
