The New England Patriots are expected to sign running back Kenjon Barner, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss. Barner could also step in as a punt returner after Riley McCarron was cut this week. The team also waived receiver Chad Hansen, whom they had claimed on waivers on September 2 from the New York Jets.

They're taking a flyer on former Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills wideout Corey Coleman, as first reported by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network on Twitter.

Coleman visited with the Patriots on Monday and was scheduled to take a trip to Philadelphia Tuesday.

Coleman entered the National Football League as a 2016 first-round draft choice of the Cleveland Browns, but never reached the expectations that come with being selected with the No. 15 pick.

Coleman, 24, played in 19 games with the Browns but injuries became a detriment.
