These launches follow last year's iPhone X - pronounced "ten" - that represented a major redesign. The new gen iPhones also get the new gen chipset, the A12 Bionic, which which Apple claims is "the smartest, most powerful chip in a smartphone".

So, if you have always wanted to buy an Apple phone but the price was holding you back, now is your chance to get hold of one.

Apple has bolstered the batteries loaded into each phone too.

The stock closed 1.24% lower at $221.07 yesterday which led to its market capitalisation falling from $1.081 trillion on September 11 to $1.068 trillion in September 12, amounting to a loss of $13 billion in market capitalisation.

Along with the Apple Watch Series 4, today Apple took the wraps off of two new flagship iPhone models. From a hardware perspective, the XR has pretty much the same tech as the Xs and Xs Max.

"When asked if they agreed with the statement "I would have paid even more for an iPhone X with a larger screen size had it been available" only five per cent strongly agreed and another 14 per cent said they somewhat agreed", she said. Expectations for Apple's lineup have been fueled by reports from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who is based in Taiwan, where numerous contracts manufacture that also make Apple products are based. And these are the people Apple must reach to continue its phenomenal success with iPhones.

Another brand-new feature for the Watch Series 4 is fall detection. Time will tell, of course. You can say that both of them look like the iPhone X. No further changes have been made to the design.

Florence's 'violent grind' leaves at least four dead in Carolinas

Now let's address those bigger screens.

As for the camera around the back of the iPhone XS Max, Apple says there's a new and improved sensor inside the 12MP + 12MP for better-than-ever photos. This device is just as good as the rest. But there's one important item you won't get with the new iPhone: a headphone dongle. Other products are going to be a big part of this week's story for Apple.

Most of the buzz is swirling around a rumored iPhone that is supposed to boast a 6.5-inch screen, up from 5.8 inches on the existing iPhone X.

And a bigger screen doesn't always mean a larger physical device.

New Depth Control allows users to dynamically adjust the depth of field in the Photos app both in real-time preview3 and post-capture to create portraits with a handsome background blur. In the USA, that second SIM won't be a physical SIM but rather what's known as an eSIM, which requires carrier support. All of the phones also support Bluetooth 5.0 for use with third-party wireless headphones. Apple seemed to suggest at its event that carrier support is still to be confirmed.

The camera also benefits from the new power of the A12 Bionic processor, improved sensors, and improved image signal processor. The promised consumer payoff: better photography (though, the current models already take really good pictures), augmented reality and overall speed and snappiness.

Apple has also worked on the new Watch to make its health-related features better as it comes with a new ECG or Electrocardiogram function and uses the new ECG app to detect the heartbeat pattern.
