Last September, Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Gennady "GGG" Golovkin put on an epic fight with wild swings in momentum and drama on the scorecards.

Alvarez, the new WBA and WBC middleweight champ, led for the majority of the fight. This time around, a victor was declared as the judges who saw the tilt tipping over to Mexican's side, 115-113, outnumbered the lone judge who scored the fight 114-114.

Unfortunately tonight's rematch didn't deliver a decisive victor, but it did give fight fans one of the greatest boxing matches in the history of the sport. "We'll do it, no doubt".

In the end, Canelo clinched the belts and handed Golovkin the first loss of his professional career with a majority decision victory.

The fight, in front of a sellout, celebrity-studded crowd that included Mike Tyson, actor Will Smith and basketballer LeBron James at T-Mobile Arena, lived up to its billing as the best two pound-for-pound fighters in the world. "Need one more between these great fighters".

"I'm not going to say who won tonight because the victory belongs to Canelo according to the judges, " Golovkin said later from his dressing room.

"If the people want a third fight, we will do it again". I think we controlled the fight with all the jabs.

A year after the two fought to a draw, the second fight was nearly as close. "This is a very important victory to me and my country, and my country will be proud". We won this fight. Great fight with two great champions!

After another 12 rounds of fighting against "GGG" the judges declared Canelo the victor via Majority Decision. The judges are good judges and it was a good fight.

Both fighters were cut in the course of the bout, Canelo sporting a long laceration underneath his left eyebrow, with Golovkin cut around the right eye and with swelling to his high cheekbones.

As close as Saturday's bout was, it's likely the boxing world will hungrily demand the two meet in the ring one more time.
