Capitalising on what they have learnt manufacturing these phones OnePlus are looking to expand into the consumer television market. The new smart TV division will be led by CEO and founder Pete Lau.

We call it: OnePlus TV. Lau's declaration suggesting that the OnePlus TV will be aimed at improving the lives of customers with the help of technology and "building a connected human experience". He also revealed that the device is now in an early development stage, but if everything goes well, it should hit the market by the end of 2019. Perhaps the most interesting nugget of info is that as with its phones, OnePlus promises to be 'constantly listening, welcoming feedback and suggestions for what should be included in its new Smart TV.' So our advice is: get your ultimate TV-features wish-list on an email and send it to Pete Lau today! Considering India being one of its top markets, the company is most likely to launch its affordable smart TV in the country. It will be interesting to see how the firm undercuts the current players in the market. That's definitely one way the smart TV industry could change. Speaking to Business Insider, Lau stated that the OnePlus TV will be unveiled sometime next year. The TV will have a camera, and the AI assistant will work not only to connect the phone to the television, but also to connect these with the house, while taking into account user privacy.

The company added that in its journey of making smartphones, it has learned "a tremendous amount about" areas like hardware, design, software, product development, and user experience. "He envisions the TV as having seamless connectivity between your smartphone and TV, as well as the type of AI smarts and assistive functionality offered by devices like Amazon's Echo and Google's Home", says the report.

That means beaming photos and home videos to your TV without needing to worry about a clunky app or third-party service.

OnePlus has built a solid reputation over the last few years as it consistently turns out great smartphones challenging Apple and Samsung on quality at a fraction of their prices.

OnePlus hasn't revealed much detail about the OnePlus TV as of now. Ahead of the launch, the company has confirmed that the OnePlus 6T will come with Oppo F9 Pro and Vivo V11 Pro like in-display fingerprint sensor. However, OnePlus hasn't restricted itself to selling smartphones, as the company also sells audio products like the wired OnePlus Bullets (V2) earphones and the wireless OnePlus Bullets Wireless earphones.

" We have just gotten started", Lau said.
