PepsiCo to give $1 Million for Hurricane Florence Relief

The TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, is donating $100,000 to support immediate relief efforts in North Carolina and SC in the wake of Hurricane Florence.

The members give up their vacation time to volunteer for DART.

The sessions are Monday, September 17th from 1:00-3:00 p.m.

If you do want to donate to the Red Cross be sure to specify you want your donation to go towards Florence relief.

Alabama Power crews are staged safely throughout Georgia and ready to respond when Florence makes landfall.

"These are firefighters from New York who have raised their hands to go out in these unsafe situations and help Americans in their darkest moments", said Josh Lockwood, the CEO of the American Red Cross of Greater New York.

American Red Cross volunteers from Texoma are on standby as the Texas Gulf is expected to face a tropical depression. The organization is a volunteer disaster response team consisting primarily of U.S. Military Veterans.

A non-profit organization, the American Red Cross provides overnight shelter for misplaced individuals, emergency supplies, health and mental health resources, food, water and emergency response vehicles. More than 20,000 people sought refuge in more than 200 Red Cross and community shelters Thursday night to escape the storm's wrath.

Anyone from any area can donate to Feeing to America.

American Red Cross says that over 120 blood drives were canceled due to the hurricane. Platelet and type O blood donations are especially needed right now. Help people affected by Hurricane Florence by visiting, calling 1- 800-RED CROSS or texting the word FLORENCE to 90999 to make a $10 donation. Operations owner Rusty James said, "It's nice to know that we can put together things like this to help out".

The Cajun Navy is a Louisiana based volunteer group that helps rescue people trapped after disasters. So we do have volunteers who are willing to deploy later this week.
