After Tiger Woods completed a remarkable season with victory at the Tour Championship, we look back at the numbers behind the former world No 1's landmark win.

Immediately after his two stroke win over Billy Horschel, Tiger was greeted with a kiss from girlfriend Erica Herman. And it was his first victory in more than five years, dating to the 2013 Bridgestone Invitational.

Justin Rose, who finished in a tie for fourth place five shots behind Woods, managed enough points to wrap up the $10 million FedEx Cup, which the tour considers its biggest prize.

Rose birdied the 18th at East Lake for a 73 to finish on six under and seal the top-five finish he needed to win the $10m (£7.6m) bonus on offer as FedEx Cup champion.

"I've been in bed for about two years and haven't been able to do much", Woods revealed ahead of the Hero World Challenge, where he would finish ninth in the 18-man field.

"This is going to be up there with one of the better accomplishments I have had, " Woods said about the possibility of winning Sunday. Not knowing what was on the other side. I just didn't want to live that way. "It's been a very evolving kind of feeling and journey".

The 49ers settled for a field goal with 5:21 remaining and couldn't complete the comeback. "I know how disappointed he is". He was a third-round pick out of Iowa in 2017 who was revered for his toughness and ability to run a pro-style offense.

Tiger Woods celebrates his Tour Championship win.

But neither put on any pressure. He shot a 65 in the first round and finished the day in a tie for the lead with Rickie Fowler.

Woods has had four surgeries on his back since 2014.

The question may also be the answer for the emotional investment exhibited by Woods' fans this year. He is now just two PGA Tour wins behind Sam Snead, reports ESPN. He said after the second and third back surgeries in the latter end of 2015 that he already has achieved plenty in golf and anything else would be "gravy". "It was just a matter of time before he does win". He meant merely playing golf, not winning, and admitted to being near tears as he came down 18. We all have been kind of expecting it. So, I was beyond playing.

"I just didn't know whether this would ever happen again". His reaction honestly might give some fans goosebumps. Heading into the Tour Championship, he was 12-1, behind then-Masters favorite Jordan Spieth. The players who had turns at No. 1 during his absence caught the full brunt of Woods in control.

No one brings excitement like Woods, even when he plays so good and so smart that he eliminates any potential for drama.
