Klobuchar: Kavanaugh Would Have Thrown Me Out of His Courtroom

Kavanaugh mentioned his appreciation for the yeasty beverage during his opening statement to the committee, almost an hour after Christine Blasey Ford finished telling the committee about the evening she says he attempted to rape her when they were in high school.

Jerry Brown suggested Friday that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh's defense of his drinking habits raised doubts about his entire denial of a sexual assault allegation. "One saw a flash in the exchange with Klobuchar the same sense of entitlement, cruelty and lack of simple decency that Christine Blasey Ford allegedly experienced way back when, the memory seared in her brain of two obnoxious teens laughing at her ordeal". Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) if she ever "blacked out" while drinking. If everyone in high school who drank beer in this country was accused of sexual assault, Kavanaugh said, the country would be in a dark place. Klobuchar, nodding slightly, returned to the questioning: "You're saying there's never been a case when you drank so much that you didn't remember what happened the night before, or part of what happened?"

Klobuchar: Could you answer the question? "I liked beer, I still like beer, but I did not drink beer to the point of blacking out and I never sexually assaulted anyone".

He responded, "You're asking about blackout".

Klobuchar said she does not know if Kavanaugh will be confirmed. That, however, did not apply to Kavanaugh: He didn't turn 18 until the following February.

She said she also thinks the Federal Bureau of Investigation should question Kavanaugh friend Mark Judge, who Ford says was in the room when Kavanaugh had attacked her. "This is a tough process, I'm sorry about that".

She directly asked him if he ever "drank so much that you can't remember what happened or part of what happened the night before". Klobuchar joins "CBS This Morning" from Washington to discuss the judge's temperament and the Republican senators' strategy.

As Klobuchar's remarks indicate, though, Kavanaugh didn't really answer the question. "I was truly just trying to get to the bottom of the facts and the evidence", Kavanaugh said.

"What I think Sen".

"I liked beer. I still like beer". Klobuchar noted that Kavanaugh's college roommate James Roche claimed Kavanaugh became "belligerent" when he drank, but the Republicans who control the Senate Judiciary Committee haven't called on such witnesses to testify.
