McCarthy also said "there's hope" that Geronimo Allison would be available Sunday, even though he remains in the National Football League concussion protocol. The No. 1 receiver left Wednesday's practice with a calf injury.

"This is how the week goes sometimes", McCarthy said.

Even as Rodgers and head coach Mike McCarthy sort through their issues, Green Bay has already turned their attention to the Lions.

There's obvious risk involved with this play, but the Packers/Lions game has the potential to turn into a shootout.

Wake sat out practice this week and didn't travel with the team Saturday.

Valdes-Scantling played 20 snaps in the first three games and 54 on Sunday against Buffalo, when Cobb was inactive. He missed one game before returning against the Los Angeles Rams last week. Valdes-Scantling is the only rookie wideout to make a catch during a regular season game.

Interpol chief Meng Hongwei under investigation, China says
Meng, who resides with his family in the French city of Lyon, fell of the radar after taking a trip back to China on September 29. Earlier Interpol had indicated Meng's disappearance was "for the relevant authorities in France and China" to deal with.

Of the three rookies, Moore entered training camp as the front-runner to be the team's No. 4 receiver. Five yards. Ten. Twenty, probably more, from the hash mark nearly all the way to the far sideline, where he finally caught up to Aaron Rodgers.

"Mentally, as a defense, I think we stuck in there", Williams said.

"They're getting better", Rodgers said.

"But I told those guys before Week 1, 'You're all going to get an opportunity at some point". Rodgers said. "They are trying to catch the ball".

The Packers' top receiver looked no worse for wear against the Lions, playing almost every offensive snap and catching nine passes for 140 yards. "We haven't been able to hit a ton of that stuff, and I think it starts with moving the sticks and giving us more run opportunities". It will be a challenge for the entire offense, not just the inexperience receivers.

The Packers on Friday ruled out Randall Cobb for Sunday's NFC North matchup at the Detroit Lions but are still holding out hope for fellow wideouts Davante Adams and Geronimo Allison. If the game turns into a high-scoring affair, it seems likely that Valdes-Scantling will find the end zone.
