Drew Brees Isn't Focused On Passing Yardage Record

Head coach Sean Payton says he'll prepare his team like it's any other week. This was the fifth straight game Washington hasn't scored a touchdown in the third quarter, dating back to past year.

The city of New Orleans has been through its ups and downs, of course.

With a raucous crowd of 73,028 fans at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome cheering him on, Brees broke Peyton Manning's all-time passing mark with a 62-yard touchdown strike to rookie receiver Tre'Quan Smith. "So to be sitting here 18 years later in striking distance.it's just kind of mind-boggling".

New Orleans came out of the half and continued to dominate Washington's defense. Brees and Colston hooked up 705 times for 7907 yards and 72 touchdowns.

Understanding the magnitude of the moment, Brees reflected a bit in his Wednesday availability, looked back at specific moments but mostly tried to avoid ruminating on the record before he breaks it.

Brees turns 40 in January.

Poll Shows Bolsonaro Leading Ahead of Sunday's Brazilian Vote
With the first round of voting nearly certain to be inconclusive, polls show a Bolsonaro-Haddad runoff tied. It showed outright victory by Bolsonaro was still possible but not likely.

The two-time Pro Bowl running back quickly silenced that talk. This typically would be a tough matchup but the Saints are at home and Brees has dominated the competition playing on Monday Night Football.

Ingram was suspended for four games after violating the league policy on performance-enhancing substances.

There was no excuse for why the Redskins showed up to NOLA unprepared.

In the second quarter, Montae Nicholson's unnecessary roughness penalty for levelling Ingram on Ryan Kerrigan's third-down sack of Brees extended a drive that ended with Brees' short TD pass to tight end Josh Hill. But Brees has slung the football around with the best of them.

It was a showing that didn't do Washington any favors as it battles through a division that is anyone's game. It was the most yards (447) Washington has allowed since Week 14 of the 2017 season against the Chargers.
