Q: How do you assess your 2018-18 PGA TOUR season? When I was a kid, my goal has been to be a part of the PGA Tour.

Justin Thomas, who won the event in 2015 and 2016, opened his bid to become the only player in CIMB Classic history to win the event three times with a 6-under 66. All three are in the field this week.

Kiwi golfer Danny Lee hit a hole-in-one early in his round at the CIMB Classic on Thursday, but failed to capitalise on it.

This proprietary computer model was also all over Moore's strong performance at the Safeway Open last week.

For Sharma, the event is hugely important in his quest to becoming Asian Tour's number one golfer as half of the earnings won at the CIMB Classic will be counted on the Standings.

The winds ripped off hotel awnings, shattered glass doors, blew down fences and stirred up white caps in swimming pools. But without extensive study, they can not directly link a single weather event to the changing climate.

They will be joined by the leading available 10 players on the Habitat for Humanity Standings which include Gaganjeet Bhullar, a nine-time Asian Tour victor, Justin Harding of South Africa and last week's champion John Catlin of the United States.

Even next week in Korea and China, all these events are going to be really big.

"I haven't really thought about anything or set any goals. I feel like this start will really help me securing my card [on the PGA Tour]". Winning the Order of Merit is something I want to achieve by December and playing well here goes a long way to achieve that. If I just play well in these three events, have consistent finishes, I feel like I'll get off to a very good start towards securing my PGA Tour card and it will obviously help my world ranking. This is not a course or a tournament where you're going to find much success playing any stretch of nine holes in 1 over. I think I've done that in the past month.

Momentum may or may not be real, but these golfers have continued some nice stretches of golf so far this week at the CIMB Classic, and the eventual victor could certainly come from this threesome.

"I drove it well and I putted pretty good, so it was kind of boring golf, but that's always a good thing", Burgoon said. He will look to improve on his tied third place finish in the showpiece in 2013.
