Pogba says he doesn’t need armband to be leader

The Portuguese tactician removed Pogba as vice-captain following the midfielder's public criticism of his tactics two weeks ago, and many believe the Frenchman's latest comments could be seen as yet another jab at his manager.

Mourinho last month revealed Pogba would no longer be considered vice-captain of the club despite having already worn the captain's armband three times this season in the absence of Antonio Valencia.

"I think he has done it on goal, and I don't think that is right", Saha said at the AFDP Spirit of Soccer launch.

"You do not have to be a captain to speak". It puts pressure on the manager.

The Manchester United midfielder and World Cup victor is one of the biggest names and most outspoken figures in the French global set-up. As a leader you can talk on the pitch, but I have seen leaders who do not necessarily speak.
