When a reporter confronted President Trump on Monday over his pledge to donate $1 million to charity if Sen.

The analysis of Warren's DNA was done by Carlos D. Bustamante, a Stanford University professor who the Boston Globe reported was an expert in the field.

Bustamente concluded Warren's ancestry is mostly European but says "the results strongly support the existence of an unadmixed Native American ancestor".

Warren provided the DNA test results in a statement, showing the lineage goes back six to 10 generations.

Warren first faced scrutiny for her purported Native American heritage during her 2012 Senate race. "But mocking Native Americans or any group in order to try to get at me, that's not what America stands for".

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., (left) announced on Friday that she had sent a letter to the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodities Futures Trading Commission concerning what she said were Trump's "reckless comments on market-moving economic data prior to their public release".

During a town hall meeting on September 29 in Holyoke, Warren said that she plans on taking a "hard look" at running for president in 2020 following the midterm elections on November 6.

She planned an elaborate rollout Monday of the results as she aimed for widespread attention.

"She used the fact that she was Native American to advance her career", Trump has said.

Warren is seeking re-election to a second term in MA and is a potential 2020 presidential contender.

"I will give you a million dollars to your favorite charity, paid for by Trump, if you take the test and it shows you're an Indian", he said. "What do the facts say?" she asks him.

In it, Warren says: "The president likes to call my mom a liar".

Professor Bustamante replies: "The facts suggest that you absolutely have Native American ancestry in your pedigree".

In a rollout video about Warren's heritage, the Massachusetts Democrat is seen sitting behind a laptop as she calls Bustamante.

The release of the DNA findings appear to be a way for Warren, who is expected to run for president in 2020, to put the issue at rest and remove a talking point from her opponents.

"This isn't just about casual racism", said Warren. "I promise you I'll do this: I will take, you know those little kits they sell on television. learn your heritage!" Warren has already released 10 years of tax returns and made her personnel files available to the Globe.
