First Busch's fuel light began to flicker.

Stewart-Haas' driver foursome of pole-sitter Kurt Busch, Kevin Harvick, Bowyer and Almirola started the race in the top four spots.

Almirola almost won the season-opening Daytona 500 but was wrecked while leading on the final lap. A week later, he got his checkered flag and his stamp into the round of eight into the playoffs. I was just glad to be able to finish Dover last weekend (in 23rd, his best finish in seven races) and now we can kind of get through this weekend, hopefully unscathed and then get the last five I would say into a smooth consistent roll into the off-season.

Bowyer finished second, congratulated his teammate and praised the SHR cooperation. "I don't think you can write enough about the job that everybody at Stewart-Haas did".

Brad Keselowski narrowly missed being caught in Larson's spin and used reflexes to get past Larson without any damage. "Oh my gosh, was it awesome". He edged teammate Clint Bowyer, who qualified second, ahead of Kevin Harvick and Aric Almirola as the Ford horsepower built by Doug Yates' engine shop proved superior in qualifying.

"Obviously they had it choreographed to restart really well", Stenhouse said. The 12 drivers still in the hunt for the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series championship will be hoping to avoid it in the 1000Bulbs.com 500, because it could spell their doom if they don't. They were the fastest cars in town. "It was pretty impressive to watch". "With the four of us together at the start, we have an opportunity to stay in front of some of the possible situations".

"Last week we didn't do a great job executing as a group", Zipadelli said. It's just been an unlucky season for us.

"My spotter said clear, and I just wasn't clear enough", Peters said of his move on Gragson.

Busch faded to 14th and Harvick wound up 28th - a disappointing end because SHR was poised for a 1-2-3-4 finish before the race went to overtime.

"Bad day for the No. 41 team", Rhodes said after the race.

Big implications in the playoffs as NASCAR heads to Kansas for the final race in the round of 12. Coming to green in overtime Kevin Harvick and Ryan Blaney hit pit lane due to running out of fuel, and as the rest of the field was racing an incident between multiple cars, in turn, two after the field had taken the white flag, brought about questions of why a yellow wasn't thrown to end the race.

Peters didn't lead until the final lap of the crash-packed playoff race. "Without that we were kind of shot". We just could never get our lap back.

Busch was steamed about two NASCAR calls late in the race. Losing the lead pack threatened to put the Team Penske driver a lap down, something that happened in short order.
