She completed a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Elina Svitolina early on Saturday (her first ever Top 5 win) in a match that was held over due to rain on Friday, then edged Muguruza to book a final with 18-year-old Dayana Yastremska of the Ukraine.

The top seed, who has an opportunity to secure her place at the WTA Finals a week early, was in trouble as she trailed Chinese star Wang Qiang 6-2 5-2.

It's the first career title for the 18-year-old, who admitted waking up nervous.

On the other side of the draw, Shuai Zhang dumped out seventh seed Daria Gavrilova 6-1 6-3 to secure a last-four meeting with Dayana Yastremska, who defeated Kristina Kucova 7-6 (8-6) 6-2.

The current world number 24 grabbed headlines at the French Open with her straight-sets demolition of Venus Williams, offering a hint of what was to come.

Ranked No. 102, Yastremska was aggressive from the start in denying Wang, 26, her third title of the season.

Pippa Middleton has given birth to her first child
Unlike other high-profile moms, Pippa kept well-wishers and supporters abreast of her pregnancy through a column for Waitrose . Pippa was reportedly seen arriving at the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital on Monday, 15 October, wearing a long blue coat.

"It was (the) toughest game", she said.

Even if she ends up losing the quarter-final to Wang, she could still possibly land a berth in the WTA Finals. "Every tournament I play, every match I play my goal is to win, to flawless myself, to get experience and to win one day a Grand Slam", she said.

After again twice leading by a break in the second set, Wang came through the fire in stunning fashion to clinch it, coming from 0-40 down in the 10th game to eventually serve it out and send the match to a thrilling final set.

Pliskova, ranked No. 6, is searching for her third title of the season and trying to lock up a spot in the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore.

"But if before the match you think it s going to be really hard you up your focus, and when you go on court you stay more dedicated to each point, that s what helped me to stay that calm during the whole match".

After getting pushed to three sets in the quarterfinals, top-seeded Karolina Pliskova was back in top form against Switzerland's Timea Bacsinszky, winning 6-2, 6-1 to reach the final at Tianjin, China.
