The AP Top 25 Poll has the Badgers ranked 23rd, that's down eight spots from last week. Taylor had 19 carries for 132 yards in last year's 24-10 win over MI at home.

No. 15 Wisconsin (4-1, 2-0 Big Ten) at No. 12 MI (5-1, 3-0), 7:30 p.m. ET (ABC).

Taylor opened up the game for the Badgers with three consecutive carries for a total of 17 yards, as the UW offense hoped to set an aggressive tone early against the touted MI run stopping force. It can afford one loss in the Big Ten race, but probably not two with third-ranked Ohio State chugging along like it is.

Iowa has won 10 straight games when scoring at least 20 points. Wisconsin is the only West team with no conference losses, and its biggest obstacle after MI is a November 10 game at Penn State. Maryland's Ty Johnson rushed for a total of 296 yards and averaged 12.9 yards per carry in three previous games against Rutgers. Hornibrook has won each of his last 10 road games, completing 68 percent of his passes with 18 TDs and just three interceptions.

Jonathan Taylor, who entered the game leading the nation with 169.8 yards rushing yards rushing per game, ran for 101 yards 17 carries.

The first quarter didn't have much going on. A run of injuries has made Iowa (4-1, 1-1) vulnerable, with two freshmen set to start at cornerback again, the top two middle linebackers out and tight end Noah Fant and running back Ivory Kelly-Martin banged up and questionable.

Starting from the 14-yard line, Patterson fooled the Badger defense with play action, then took off for an 81-yard gut-punch to bring the Wolverines to within striking distance, setting up an easy two-yard touchdown from running back Karan Higdon. By the time the drought ended, the Badgers were down by 31 points and there was less than 5 minutes left to play.
