After quite a bit of anticipation and perhaps even more leaks, HMD Global finally made the X7 official earlier today in China.

Regional pricing will start at the rough equivalent of $245 (1,699 yuan) for a 4GB RAM/64GB ROM configuration, going up to CNY 1,999 ($290) and CNY 2,499 ($360) respectively with 6GB RAM and either 64 or 128 gigs of internal storage.

The phone is backed by a 3,500mAh battery and supports 18W fast-charging. The camera supports optical image stablisation. We're talking both literally and figuratively, as the freshly announced Nokia X7 comes with a jumbo-sized 6.18-inch display and solid upper mid-range features. It also uses dual cameras at its rear with Zeiss optics. The screen comes with DCI-P3 wide color gamut and support for HDR video playback.

As the other Nokia smartphones launched this year, this one also runs Android 8.1 Oreo and can be upgraded to Android 9.0 Pie.

Right now, there are no words on worldwide availability, but seeing as how the Nokia X5 and X6 have gone global under the 5.1 Plus and 6.1 Plus names, we're definitely counting on a Western release for the Nokia 7.1 Plus/X7 as well.

Moving on to the other features, the Nokia 7.1 Plus is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor. The setup includes a 12-megapixel primary sensor coupled with a 13-megapixel secondary sensor with telephoto lens for zoom and portrait mode. A fingerprint scanner is available below the dual camera module. The front camera is an AI-enabled 20MP clicker. The camera also supports AI scene detection that can detect between 18 different scene types to optimize your photos. The smartphone is available in Black, Purple, Blue, and White colour options. The sale will debut on October 23 in China and there is no word regarding its global release.

The display on the phone will be one of Nokia's PureView screens, with an FHD+ resolution and an 18.7:9 aspect ratio. This will be offered with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage, which will be expandable up to 400GB via a microSD card.
