Samsung has announced a new version of its Galaxy Book 2-in-1 PC and it features the new octocore Qualcomm Snapdragon 850 mobile PC processor rather than one of Intel's chips.

As the Galaxy Book 2 is powered by a 2.96Ghz octa-core Snapdragon 850 chipset, it supports the Always-Connected feature, which means the device will instantly switch on when you press hit the power button. This is a somewhat dicey proposition because while the Snapdragon 835 in Asus Nova Go I reviewed earlier this year offered tons of battery life, its performance felt a little too anemic to be considered a true everyday workhorse.

For starters, it comes with an X20 LTE modem so the tablet offers 4G connectivity so you're always connected to data like your smartphone.

This may make the Galaxy Book 2 a bit less unique in its look and feel, but it may well have been a worthy decision given feedback on previous models provided by many, including yours truly. The Galaxy Book 2 will hit store shelves later in the month. This all sits behind a 12-inch Super AMOLED display with a 2,160 x 1,440-pixel resolution.

Supply chain on edge with iPhone XR demand
But Sam's Club has a new deal that will let you save $100 on your upcoming iPhone XR purchase in the form of a gift card. The device's 6.1-inch display features a resolution of 1,792 x 828 and supports Tap to Wake functionality.

"The way the world works is undergoing an incredible transformation, and users need technology that keeps them connected and ready for anything when they're out in the world getting things done", said Alanna Cotton, Senior Vice President and General Manager at Samsung Electronics America.

The Samsung Galaxy Book2 boasts multi-workday battery life, allowing you to spend more time being productive or entertained, and less time searching for an outlet.

Users who purchase the Galaxy Book 2 will also get an S-Pen and keyboard cover. You can pick up a Book 2 at AT&T, Microsoft, and Samsung stores online for $999.99 starting November 2, 2018. It also comes with a couple of USB Type-C ports, a microSD card slot and 3.5mm audio jack.

We don't have a United Kingdom price yet, but the Galaxy Book 2 price is $999 in the US. The Samsung Galaxy Book2 is always connected with Gigabit LTE**.
