Wagon version of Porsche's Taycan spotted for first time

The EV sports auto is a crossover variant of the Taycan, the production version of the Mission E that was on show recently at Sydney's Barangaroo.

Porsche on Friday confirmed its Mission E Cross Turismo concept for production as an alternative body style for the Taycan electric liftback sedan. And in our opinion, a wagon version of the Taycan that's called Taycan Sport Turismo.

First presented at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, the Mission E Cross Turismo was liked both by journalists and general public.

The Mission E Sport Turismo concept was unveiled at the Geneva motor show in March this year, building on the regular Mission E with a jumped-up wagon profile.

The 600-horsepower auto will, according to Porsche, have a NEDC range of 500 kilometers, or 310 miles.

The four-door machine rides on the firm's 800-volt architecture, which means it has fast-charging capabilities.

Porsche says that with the official green light given for production, it has opened up 300 new jobs at its headquarters in Zuffenhausen. Thus, the price tag of new items will start from 80 thousand Euro.

Porsche is taking electrification quite seriously committing around seven billion dollars towards EVs through 2022 - it's not only about cold, hard cash, since the company is also responsible for other brands in the VW Group's portfolio such as Audi and Bentley.

It is expected that universal will release in 2020, followed by a liftback Taycan, the Assembly of which is scheduled to launch in 2019.
