"We're starting with the first part of the continuing story of Rick Grimes, and there is much more on the way, featuring yet-unseen worlds of The Walking Dead and faces from the show's past, as well as new characters we hope to become favorites, told by TWD veterans and emerging voices", said Gimple.

The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Rick and Anne's story will continue in these big-budget movies, the first of which is currently being written by Scott M. Gimple, the former Walking Dead showrunner who now serves as The Walking Dead chief content officer for AMC.

Steven Yeun appeared on The Walking Dead from season 1 to 7 as Glenn Rhee.

There was also one helluva time jump at the very end of the episode, suggesting everyone's moved on long past his supposed death (or, more accurately, disappearance).

'It is about who he is and who he's going to be - and certainly how he deals with the situation he's in, ' Gimple added. We know, but it means spoiling what happened in the most recent episode.
