According to a report from the Hollywood Reporter, Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan is now in the process of writing a two-hour movie that, per Complex, will be a sequel continuing the tale of Jesse Pinkman's story following the show's final episode.

According to The Albuquerque Journal the plot of the film will revolve around the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom.

Cranston said he had not seen a script, but had spoken to series creator Vince Gilligan about the film.

He turns to a life of crime, producing and selling methamphetamine with a former student, Jesse Pinkman, played by Aaron Paul, with the aim of securing his family's financial future before he dies. It was followed by the prequel series Better Call Saul, focused on Bob Odenkirk's small-time lawyer Jimmy McGill, which just got renewed for a fifth season. He recently showed up on the Dan Patrick Show, where he started out by seemingly confirming the film. It's also unclear is if any of the original stars, like Bryan Cranston or Aaron Paul, are involved in the new project, which sources stress will be set in the existing Breaking Bad franchise. Now, fans' favourite Breaking Bad will be revived as a film.

Either way, we're pretty excited for the upcoming Breaking Bad sequel!

According to The Journal, citing the New Mexico Film Office, the film will be titled Greenbrier, and production is scheduled to begin mid-November through February.

"This idea, from what I'm told, gets into ... at least a couple of the characters that were not completed as far as their journey".

A source close to the creator made the claims but Gilligan and producer of the show, Sony Pictures Television hasn't confirmed anything yet. Apparently the film bears the code name Greenbrier, but beyond that, no details have been released.
