The top 10 shook out like this: No. 1 Alabama, No. 2 Clemson, No. 3 Notre Dame, No. 4 Michigan, No. 5 Georgia, No. 6 Oklahoma, No. 7 LSU, No. 8 Washington State, No. 9 West Virginia and No. 10 Ohio State.

Alabama and Clemson have pretty much locked up those first two spots, assuming they win out. How far will they fall after a very likely loss?

West Virginia, which leapfrogged the Cougars in the AP poll, came in at No. 9 in the CFP rankings. However, with the Tide's win over former No. 3 LSU over the weekend, there was a change at the top of the rankings.

"I have to be my best today", Orgeron said. UTEP entered this weekend of play as the only winless team at the Football Bowl Subdivision level, riding the nation's longest losing streak spanning 20 games.

A huge matchup with No. 6 Oklahoma late in the season looms large for the Mountaineers.

Assuming the top three unbeaten teams would get in by winning out, here are the paths to the playoff. "We've got a lot to play for".

If Georgia (8-1) wins out, it is expected to be in the playoff for the second straight year.

The midterm election didn’t mean what you think it meant
But the Democrats managed to reclaim a hold on the House of Representatives with 220 seats being won out of the overall 435. Bush but liked his policies when he lost the House in 2006, and 10 times the share that disliked Barack Obama in 2013.

Our Matt Kenerly projected the top 25 and his version has the Aggies on the outside looking in, and the Bulldogs ranked in those projections.

"I'm not curious at all, because we all know the end is what matters", Smart said last week.

The only intrigue was which teams would fill out the other spots.

Alabama and Georgia, who played in last year's College Football Playoff Championship in Atlanta, are headed for a rematch at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on December 1 in the SEC title game. But what Utah State is is an 8-1 team that's only loss was a seven-point loss on the road against No. 18 Michigan State.

Defense will lead them past Ohio State and now they have a competent quarterback to score on offense.

Prediction: Not one of the nine playoff-contending teams will lose in Week 11, meaning, obviously, we'll have nine playoff-contending teams with two regular-season weeks remaining. Alabama held LSU scoreless for the second time in three meetings, earning an SEC West Division title and another SEC title game bid.
