After foldable phone, Samsung launches W2019 flip phone

After all, the Dual Aperture camera on the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9 debuted on the W2018 a year ago, so it's certainly something to be concerned about if you've been hanging on to Samsung smartphones because of the headphone jack. The device also has a Bixby button on the side and a fingerprint sensor. Running on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system, Samsung's flip phone is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with 6GB of RAM. One with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage and the other one with 6GB RAM and 256GB storage. However, the smartphone's price is yet to be officially revealed by the company.

Like its predecessor, the Samsung W2019 will be available only in Asia and will be available in China through China Unicorn. The display measures 4.2 inches and comes with support for Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The phone is available in Silver and Gold colour options. Completing the phone's general specifications is a 3070mAh battery. When you flip open the device, you will witness the second 4.2-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display along with a directional pad and a numeric keypad. The rear side comes with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass for added protection. With clamshell snapped, the phone is about 17.3mm thick. Interestingly, unlike most phones these days that come with either under display fingerprint sensor or rear mounted sensor for unlocking the phone, Samsung decides to incorporate a side fingerprint sensor on the W2019.

Samsung W2019 dual 12-megapixel cameras feature F1.5/F2.4 apertures respectively. Besides, the phone appears to have a plastic body with a metallic finish, though details of the same remain unconfirmed. Other features include OIS, 2X optical zoom, 4K video at 60fps and 1080p slow motion video at 960fps.
