On Tuesday, the show's official Twitter account posted a video announcing that the eighth and final season will air in April 2019.

The television show's cast member Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark on Game of Thrones, briefly revealed season 8's premiere month during an interview back in January.

This upcoming final season consists of just six episodes so it'll be a short-lived cycle, although no doubt every single episode will be picked over and discussed at length once the time comes.

Unfortunately, while the teaser did bring with it an actual launch period, it didn't include any footage from the final season.

At a commemorative event for World War I this weekend, a French woman was very excited to be meeting her country's president. President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin each arrived to the commemoration separately, citing security reasons.

While we now know the much-anticipated new season will arrive next April, HBO has yet to disclose a specific date.

The Night King will march on Westeros in April.

"Every battle, every betrayal, every alliance, every risk, every fight, every sacrifice, every oath, every death is all #forthethrone", read the accompanying text.

The exact premiere date has yet to be specified, although based on previous years it is more than likely going to debut closer to the end of the month.
