Gordon Hayward willing to make sacrifice to help spark Celtics' offense

This is an interesting development considering talk of Gordon Hayward potentially accepting a bench role-starting tonight, maybe-and Morris being the most likely pick to take his place in the starting lineup. Boston's second unit should do well against a Chicago defense rated 22nd overall by numberFire's power rankings.

After leading the National Basketball Association by allowing 96.2 points per game in October, Boston has yielded an average of 110.3 points and allowed at least 100 in all six November games.

Hayward followed with a jumper, then converted another three-point play as the Celtics opened a 92-64 bulge with 9:32 left.

The Celtics will play three home games in a four-day stretch, with the aforementioned Raptors coming to TD Garden on Friday and the Utah Jazz on Saturday. The shot feels good in practice and looks good and for whatever reason in the game, they're in and out. But after the Celtics' 29-point win over the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday, the star guard set the record straight about the point he was trying to make with his recent comments. This includes a 10-point, 3-for-11 effort against the Celtics, which ended his impressive streak of 20-point performances at 14 games (15 if you include his last outing in 2017-18).

Premier League clubs agree to bring VAR in next season
Referee Jose Maria Sanchez Martinez uses VAR during a La Liga match between Barcelona and Real Madrid last month. Those incidents led to 20 reviews, with 17 decisions changed as a result.

After a disjointed preseason, uneven start to the regular season, and a 1-4 road trip packed with fits and starts, the return home Wednesday night after two days off against the also-ran Chicago Bulls was the flawless time for the Celtics to begin resembling the team that was supposed to be the one to beat in the Eastern Conference this season. "We've got to find a way to put the ball in the hoop". Worse than that, he's shooting 39.6% from the field and 31.9% from long range. "I wasn't speaking t anyone specific, maybe a vet that's been through a championship run that is able to be patient with this team". Chicago's 82 points marked the lowest total allowed by Boston this season.

Gordon Hayward just isn't right. Yet.

And when the young Bulls gave the Celtics even more space at the start of the third quarter, the C's responded with an 11-0 burst that started on a Horford three, continued through a Brown dunk, another Horford three, and Tatum's third 3-pointer of the night for a 62-37 lead.
