The Washington Redskins have signed free agent quarterback Mark Sanchez to back up Colt McCoy, according to multiple reports.

Washington was reportedly interested in a pu pu platter of National Football League burnouts to take its open quarterback spot, including EJ Manuel, T.J. Yates and Sanchez. Alex Smith broke two bones in his legs after taking a gruesome hit against the Texans Sunday, which will sideline him for the rest of the season.

Theismann was watching from a suite at FedEx Field as Smith broke his right tibia and fibula on a sack from Kareem Jackson in the third quarter.

Joe Theismann broke his leg on November 18 1985, 33 years ago Sunday, to the day.

Problem was, when players went to go and fix it, they simply couldn't... and could also walk through it. Hitching issues have also been addressed, Bethesda says, along with some unstable menus on Xbox One .

Smith, 34, underwent surgery at a nearby hospital, ESPN reported.

Sanchez and Clemens know offensive coordinator Matt Cavanaugh from their time with the New York Jets.

Sanchez served as the Chicago Bears' backup to Mitchell Trubisky last season and remained unsigned this year. Now, Washington has to move on and play Thanksgiving afternoon against the Dallas Cowboys, who find themselves with ample life in the East. The reason for that is because Sanchez's first game with the Redskins is going to come on the sixth anniversary of the butt-fumble.
