Brooklyn rapper 6ix9ine indicted on racketeering charges

Longyear said 6ix9ine was captured on surveillance video as he sat in a vehicle and filmed the scene in Times Square when his co-defendants carried out a violent robbery against a rival gang member.

But 6ix9ine also has had a series of run-ins with law enforcement and has publicly identified himself as a member of a violent NY gang, 9 Trey Bloods. TMZ reports that the rapper's USA tour was canceled just before he and three other former members of his team were arrested on federal charges. The outlet reports that all four men face racketeering and firearms charges, which means they will very likely wind up behind bars.

The authorities also arrested three of Hernandez's former associates, Kifano "Shotti" Jordan, Jensel "Ish" Butler and Faheem "Crippy" Walter. "The purposes of the Enterprise included preserving and protecting the power, territory, and profits of the Enterprise through acts involving murder... and threats of violence".

According to the prosecutors, back in April, Tekashi waited in a vehicle outside an NYC office while his manager and other associates robbed some of Tekashi's rivals. Two of the counts he's facing have a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Tekashi69 and a few of his business associates including his ex-manager, Shottie, are now in federal custody and facing charges of gun and racketeering.

US Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman said the gang has been involved in multiple acts of violence and has wrecked havoc on New York City.

In a 2015 case in NY, 6ix9ine was sentenced to probation for his involvement in the video that was posted on social media.

6ix9ine has been on probation since 2015 for numerous crimes, including a sex crime case involving a child, and a disorderly conduct charge from an altercation he had with a police officer.
