"CBP will not allow for the unlawful entry of persons into the United States, at or between our ports of entry", Pete Flores, Director of CBP's field operations in San Diego, said in a statement.

While wait times at the San Ysidro border crossing will be longer by vehicle, border officials say the wait time at the pedestrian crossings are typically no longer than 15 minutes.

The lane closure started around 3:30 a.m. PDT, reported Fox 5, describing the lanes as lined with what looked like armed forces blocking many northbound lanes.

Many of these emails were in violation of federal records rules, they said, and White House ethics officials found out about her personal email use while responding to a public records lawsuit.

CBP said then that they would be closed "to install and pre-position port hardening infrastructure equipment in preparation for the migrant caravan and the potential safety and security risk that it could cause".

"Unfortunately, some members of the caravan are purposely causing disruptions at our border ports of entry".

Queues at the Tijuana crossing stretched back for several miles as traffic into the USA was blocked while new security barriers were installed, causing anger among the 110,000 people who enter the United States every day. We will do everything we can to protect those who defend our nation's sovereignty and secure our border.

It is expected the Pentagon and US Northern Command will amend the current document detailing the rules governing the "use of force" on the border mission.

Ticket alert: Rolling Stones at Hard Rock Stadium
Lead singer Mick Jagger says in a statement: "It's a thrill when we play stadiums in the States". "It's a great crowd". As of this writing, prices have not yet been announced for any of the No Filter 2018 tour dates.

On Monday the Politico website reported that the Pentagon is planning to begin a drawdown of the troops.

The agency later elaborated on the matter, noting that "temporary impediment measures", such as "concertina wire or Jersey barriers", would be installed. Troops involved in logistics will also be able to depart now that base camps have been built, while helicopter pilots, medical personnel and engineers who can help close traffic at ports of entry will stay on longer, Politico reported.

US President Donald Trump voiced his support for the mayor of Tijuana on Sunday.

The decision is a major dent to the administration's efforts to derail the migrant caravan camped out on the U.S. -Mexico border, undercutting Homeland Security's efforts to funnel those people to the legal border crossings.

On Monday, homeland security officials confirmed that more than 500 individuals traveling with the caravan are criminals.

"The problem is that there has been bad information circulating on social media, with videos of two or three migrants acting badly, climbing the wall or grabbing food in stores", said Coronel, adding that most are poor people simply trying to find work. "They claimed the group is mostly made up of single adult or teen males and that the women and children have been pushed to the front of the line in a bid to garner sympathetic media coverage".

"Some of them are a bunch of bums, smoking marijuana in the street, and attacking our families in Playas de Tijuana", the mayor said last week, on Mexican television.
