A new Red Dead Redemption 2 update released earlier this week added Red Dead Online to the game.

Players will, of course, need an active PS Plus subscription to claim this new bonus, as they won't be able to access multiplayer mode without it. The rest of the players will have to wait until the 30th of November.

With more and more players now approaching the conclusion of the game's gargantuan single-player campaign, Rockstar has begun phasing its beta rollout for its multiplayer component "Red Dead Online", whilst also providing information on what to expect.

By December 1, all owners of Red Dead Redemption 2 will have access to Red Dead Online's beta. Players can create a "Temporary Posses", but once they exit the game the stats will not carry on to the next game session. Red Dead Online will remain in beta for as long as it needs to, which could be a few weeks, or a few months depending on how things go. Every kill pushes you up the scoreboard, but watch out: the closer to the top you are, the more points everyone else gets for killing you. The beta is open right now to those who purchased the game's ultimate edition. The studio is being very candid about potential performance issues, saying that the beta is "the first step in what will be a continually expanding and dynamic world". These choices you make will affect your honor in Red Dead Online which impacts how the world responds to you and the missions available to you.
