"This year, as we're facing even more problems, it proves what I said when the season started: that it would be very tough for us".

"There are six teams that should stay in the first six positions, season after season, and two of these teams are staying outside the top four". However, Unai Emery's men are in excellent form and extended their unbeaten run to 12 league games at the weekend and find themselves in that coveted fourth position, eight points ahead of their rivals.

"I didn't think Alexis Sanchez's style of play would suit United, he's a free spirit and you have to know how to deal with him", he said.

"Until a year ago I said that finishing second was a fantastic thing because of the qualities we had in comparison to the quality of the other teams that are fighting for the top four".

However, Mourinho insisted the performance levels of the players should not be driven by their relationship with him, but out of respect for the shirt.

"I don't think Everton will be in front of Manchester United by the end of the season".

Claiming once more that last season's second-placed finish "was a fantastic thing because of the qualities wer had in comparison to the quality of the other teams that are fighting for the top four", Jose Mourinho clearly believes that nothing near a repeat of that is possible this season.

Delhi Daredevils IPL team renamed as Delhi Capitals
After being known as the Delhi Daredevils for the past decade, Delhi's IPL team will now be called Delhi Capitals. Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting will continue as the coach and will be assisted by Mohammad Kaif.

"Valencia is not playing, Shaw is a doubt, Darmian is back but I have to wait and maybe we decide like the last match a couple of hours before the game".

Of the alleged outburst at Pogba, Mourinho said: "I quoted one thing in an interview I gave to Brazilian TV and you can go there and see what I said".

Referring to his ambitions for the rest of the season, Mourinho added: "Try to win as many points as possible and try nearly the miracle to end in fourth".

"I don't speak about that".

"If you asked me at 11 a.m".

"He's got undoubted ability, but I wasn't quite sure the way he plays would fit in to the Mourinho way".
