The Nokia 8.1 will be available globally in mid-December at a price of €400. We expect the India price to be a little more aggressive, so you can expect it to fall under Rs 30,000. This is an Android One phone now running Pie, but it will receive OS updates for 2 years and security updates for 3 years.

The Nokia 8.1 is similar in design and hardware to the China-only Nokia X7. It features a 5.84-inch FHD+ "PureView" screen with 19:9 aspect ratio and 2280x1080 pixels resolution. The guaranteed security updates for 3 years and OS updates for 2 make the Nokia line of devices truly unique among the Android OEM line up.

Included in the launch mix are Blue/Silver, Steel/Copper, and Iron/Steel. Key features of the Nokia 8.1 include Snapdragon 710 SoC, HDR display and Zeiss optics. The primary sensor gets a 1.4 micron pixel, OIS, EIS and 2PD support. The notch in the screen houses the 20MP selfie camera. The secondary sensor will offer depth sensing.
