George H.W. Bush’s funeral and memorial services plan

In light of the former president's passing on Friday, a local man shared his story of driving in George H.W. Bush's motorcade when he visited San Diego. The public can pay their respects to the 41st president from 7:30 p.m. ET Monday to 8:45 a.m. ET Wednesday.

President Donald Trump designated Wednesday as a national day of mourning, the White House said.

Once back in Texas, "Bush's remains will lie in repose at St. Martin's Episcopal Church" in Houston from Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. until Thursday at 6 a.m., again "with a guard of honor in attendance", according to officials. The remains will be transported by funeral vehicle (train) to College Station.

"We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of President George H.W. Bush, a great American whose record of service and love of country are surpassed only by his devotion to family".

State investigators are on the ground in Bladen County talking to people involved with the potential election fraud scheme. The House Administration committee has "full investigative authority to determine the victor ", she said.

Bush senior is the father of George W. Bush, the 43rd president of the US.

Family spokesman Jim McGrath said Bush died shortly after 10 p.m. Friday, about eight months after the death of former first lady Barbara Bush, his wife of more than 73 years.

"He was such a wonderful man and this school was founded on his style of public service and selfless service".

To honor the former president, the global nonprofit Points of Light, founded by Bush, invited the public to celebrate Bush by giving a day of service in his memory.
