Kevin Durant offers rare hint on future: It's 'toxic' around LeBron James

Durant's comments came after an National Hockey League expansion team was awarded to Seattle.

For Durant, he's been lucky in the sense that there wasn't as much hype surrounding him coming out of high school compared to James and was able to relax a little his first years playing for the Seattle SuperSonics/Oklahoma City Thunder when it came to the media. But two All-Stars available on the trade market - Kawhi Leonard and Jimmy Butler - both ended up being dealt to teams other than the Lakers.

"Guys similar to (LeBron), why would they want to play with somebody who does all the same things?" The Athletic's Joe Vardon initially broke the story who said that LeBron thinks Melo could be an asset in the younger players' development.

"So, I went outside the agent network, and asked Source No. 3: someone who works in an unrelated industry but has long-standing connections to Rich Paul and LeBron James", he explained. He can't be traded until at least December 15, and sources said there had been no request made by James to Lakers president Magic Johnson or general manager Rob Pelinka to make a deal for his friend. "He has so many fanboys in the media". A brief scroll through his feed shows you what he's wearing on the day's show, what shoes he wore to the studio, and usually what kind of hot cereal he had for breakfast.

Bond market flashes yield curve warning
It was the first part of the Treasury yield curve to invert since the financial crisis, excluding very short-dated debt. The yield curve inverted between the 2- and 10-year yield before the recessions of 1981, 1991, 2000 and 2008.

It was just last summer when John Wall signed an extension with the Wizards that will pay him a total $207 million through 2023. I'm like, we're playing basketball here, and it's not even about basketball at certain points. They know what they're going to get out of me.

"Especially when the attention is bullsh- attention, fluff", Durant continued. It's not LeBron's fault at all; it's just the fact you have so many groupies in the media that love to hang on every word. Bosh, same way. LeBron is a player that needs to play with guys that already know how they play the game-and shooters. So, we got guys who just want to continue to develop and guys that continue to get better and better just from experience.

"He's very unselfish. He's won multiple championships with other superstars", Walton said. So I don't really.

My read on this is LeBron wanted this news out.
