Tyler Perry Just Paid Off 2 Walmart Layaway Departments in Atlanta

He then told people that if they had items on layaway at two Atlanta-area locations (in East Point, and Douglasville, Georgia) prior to 9:30 a.m. Thursday that they wouldn't have to pay for any of those items.

Tyler admitted he wanted for his act of charity to be anonymous, but given that "nothing can stay secret", he felt the need to announce his good deed.

Christmas came early for a bunch of lucky Walmart customers. because Tyler Perry just picked up their tabs.

A Walmart manager at the Douglasville location told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution the store usually has about 1,000 layaway accounts at this time of year.

"So, God bless you, go get your stuff and Merry Christmas", Perry added.

Officials from the Pentagon and the State Department told CNN that they could not discuss matters related to national intelligence.

"Tyler Perry's generous donation is making an unbelievable difference for so many families, and we can't thank him enough for his kindness", read a statement from the company. "Merry Christmas", Perry said to close his video.

Perry advised the people that they'd have to spend a penny to get the items. "THANK YOU! #SparkKindness", a representative for Walmart tweeted.

Perry's gesture applied to layaways that were already in the stores as of 9:30 a.m. local time on December 6.

In recent weeks, anonymous good Samaritans have paid off all layaway items in four Walmart stores in different parts of the country - a total of more than $130,000.
