Obsidian announces The Outer Worlds, a true open-ended sci-fi RPG

The Outer Worlds certainly looks like it follows Obsidian's storytelling linage, presenting what appears to be a story-driven open-world RPG set in a world with a retro-futuristic approach to space travel. You'll be in first-person for the most part, but other in-game systems haven't been shown yet, so we don't know how levelling up works, or how player stats will impact skills.

Their new game, The Outer Worlds, was just announced during The Game Awards.

Kendrick Lamar Received The Most 2019 Grammy Nominations
The rest of the best new artist nominees included Chloe x Halle, Luke Combs, H.E.R, Dua Lipa, Bebe Rexha and Jorja Smith. She has five nominations in total, a number matched only by Lady Gaga and six-time nominee Brandi Carlisle.

The Outer Worlds will be out in 2019 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

However, work would've begun on The Outer Worlds years before the buyout so it seems the deal with Take-Two has stuck and the game will remain multiformat. Throughout the game, as players fight different monsters and make their way through various non-combat encounters, they can choose to take "Flaws", which hinder their character in some way while providing an extra perk point immediately. In theory, this should incentivize deeper role-playing. The team that created Fallout and developed Fallout: New Vegas could very possibly deliver a massive hit. For my money, the most exciting one is The Outer Worlds, a new venture from the original architects of Fallout; if you've played Fallout 76 then you probably have a good idea why this return to form is welcome news. What do you guys think of Obsidian's Outer Worlds trailer?
