The charming 16-bit format and simple gameplay (shoot and/or hack Demadogs and random butch guards!) is a flawless nostalgic tie-in for the '80s-set Netflix series.

Stranger Things season 3 doesn't even have a premiere date yet, but there's already a video game on its way based on the upcoming season of the beloved Netflix show. But there's some good news - it does indeed live on, though with a completely different retro-style title.

The game will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Mac and PC. It seems like developer BonusXP is stepping up their game for the latest crack at the Stranger Things franchise.

Crash Team Racing confirmed for Nintendo Switch
It looks like developer Beenox has taken the assets and artistic design of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and built on it to create its polished up version of the beloved racing game.

As you can see below, users will be able to take control of a variety of characters, from Lucas to Hopper to what appears to be either Eleven, Joyce, or Steve (please god). But we'll find out soon enough, fans. Maybe a new Netflix series trailer can give us an idea.? And, at the same time, moderately simple, and in a way, nostalgic.

The game will feature a "few surprises of its own" but will be grounded in the events of the yet to be released third season. Stranger Things 3: The Game should arrive sometime in 2019.
