Liverpool are enjoying their best ever start to a Premier League campaign, unbeaten in 17 games - the latest a 3-1 win over Manchester United at Anfield.

"I think in general people need a good summer break, sometimes we play for 11-and-a-half months at a time and there is not enough time to rest".

The pair struck up a friendship at Juventus, and were pictured together on Pogba's Instagram amid reports the Frenchman wants to return to Italy after being "humiliated" when left on the bench for United's defeat against Liverpool.

"If Mo Salah or (Roberto) Firmino make a mistake it maybe doesn't get punished because it is up the other end but that is unfortunately what a keeper has to put up with, if they make a mistake it usually turns into a goal".

He said: "I worked hard to be back".

United briefly broke out to create a threat of their own, Robertson intervening when a cross seemed destined for Fellaini, but the corner came to nothing.

Mourinho managed the Italian side in a two year spell beginning at the end of the last decade. "Of course not. But we can still finish fourth", Mourinho told Sky Sports. They kept on attacking, and with Shaqiri' arrival, United's defense had to crack at some point. But the Swiss needed two deflections, off Ashley Young and Eric Bailly, to take his tally to five league goals for the term.
