The 22-year-old full-back starred for France as they won the World Cup in the summer, his stunning strike against Argentina in the round of 16 eventually being named as goal of the tournament. He's a young player and a world champion.

Bayern Munich have confirmed 2018 FIFA World Cup victor Benjamin Pavard will join the club at the end of the Bundesliga season in a deal worth €35m.

"I can announce that we managed to get the services of Benjamin Pavard from July 1, 2019", Salihamidzic told reporters during a Bayern training camp in Qatar, without giving any financial details of the transfer.

Following an outstanding debut season in Germany's upper tier, Pavard has struggled this term, just like Stuttgart.

Pavard's status skyrocketed last summer when the centre-back scored the goal of the World Cup with a stunning net-busting strike in a 4-3 last-16 win over Argentina that set France on their way to the Russian Federation 2018 title.

Bayern's next competitive game comes on the 18 January, when they return from winter break with a game at Hoffenheim.

Pavard joined Stuttgart from Lille in 2016, helping the side to win promotion back to the Bundesliga.

They are second in the Bundesliga, six points behind leaders Borussia Dortmund, and face Liverpool in the last 16 of the Champions League.
