Say what you will about the Mercedes-Benz CLA, the compact "four-door coupe" has been a roaring success, with more than 750,000 sold worldwide since its introduction in 2013. It was never as stylish as it set out to be, though, and instead of being a Mercedes that happened to be cheap, it was more like a cheap auto that happened to have a Mercedes badge.

"The latest version of Voice Control for MBUX - Mercedes-Benz User Experience - can be experienced in the new CLA".

The second-generation Mercedes-Benz CLA has finally revealed itself to the world, looking more like a "CLS junior" than ever. The smoother body helps the CLA to look more expensive than it really is, and the aerodynamics have been improved.

The new CLA's body is almost 2 inches wider and longer than its predecessor, though the rear-seat leg room is almost identical to the outgoing model, which was already cramped.

The current top cloud players are Amazon, Microsoft, IBM, Google and Alibaba, according to market insight firm Synergy Research. The Kunpeng 920 aims to boost performance in terms of big data workloads, distributed storage, and floating-point calculations.

Available with front- and four-wheel drive and the choice of two rear suspension systems, the new machine was displayed at CES in the CLA 250 guise, featuring a 224hp, 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine, driven through a seven-speed automatic gearbox. Mercedes also notes that handling should be further improved over the old CLA-Class thanks to a lower center of gravity and front and rear tracks that are wider by 2.5 and 2.2 inches respectively.

Mercedes didn't say how much the CLA-Class would cost when it goes on sale near the end of this year, but it's likely to be more than current CLA's base price of roughly $34,000. Drag coefficient is 0.23. Performance lovers that we are at C/D, we can't wait for the AMG models-both a 300-hp CLA35 (previewed by the new A35) and a 400-plus-hp CLA45 are on the near horizon.

Underneath, the CLA Class uses the same technology as the A Class. Like the A-Class, the CLA will offer a bevy of active safety systems but not many of them will be standard. For example, the voice assistant, activated by the keyword "Hey Mercedes, ' is able to recognize and answer considerably more complex queries", says Sajjad Khan, member of the divisional board of Mercedes-Benz cars for CASE and head of digital vehicle and mobility. "Instead it only responds to the commands of the person who last said "Hey, Mercedes" to activate the system". Other options include a slew of driver assist systems from the top-rung S-Class such as active adaptive cruise control, lane-change assist, steering assist and parking assist.

Mercedes Benz India will start 2019 by launching the V-Class on January 24! Frameless doors also continue to be a highlight of the new four-door coupe.
