Sanders apologized on CNN last week to "any woman who feels like she was not treated appropriately" and said he wasn't aware of the problems at the time.

After the 2016 campaign, Weaver served as a spokesperson for the Sanders family during a federal bank fraud investigation into the actions of the senator's wife, Jane O'Meara Sanders, stemming from her tenure as president of Burlington College.

"We are addressing what happened on the Bernie campaign but as people that work in this space we see that all campaigns are extremely unsafe to women and marginalized people and we are attempting to fix that", the campaign staffers wrote.

Politico reported late Wednesday that Robert Becker - who oversaw Sanders' 2016 Iowa campaign, then helped lead his efforts in Michigan, California and NY as deputy national field director - allegedly approached a 20-year-old campaign staffer, grabbed her wrists and forcibly kissed her, "putting his tongue in her mouth as he held her".

While Sanders is reportedly becoming more serious by the day about forging a second White House bid to challenge President Donald Trump in 2020, dozens of women and men who worked on the his 2016 presidential campaign have signed a letter requesting a meeting with the Vermont senator and his top political advisers "to discuss the issue of sexual violence and harassment on the 2016 campaign, for the goal of planning to mitigate the issue in the upcoming presidential cycle", Politico reported. "You can't run for president of the United States unless you acknowledge that every campaign demands a safe work environment for every employee and volunteer".

Senator Harris has said she was "unaware" that a top aide paid a settlement of $400,000 (£314,000) in May 2017 to a woman who sued for sexual harassment.

It was Woods performance in the Players Championship that really caught the eye, with rounds of 65 and 69 during the weekend. With the leaders in the US Open normally hovering around par, this produces a great opportunity for Woods to capitalize.

They said that later that evening, "Becker approached the woman and abruptly grabbed her wrists".

On Wednesday, Politico reported that the deputy national field director for Mr Sanders' campaign had forcibly kissed a younger subordinate in 2016.

The anonymous staffer, who is in her 20s, and other witnesses told Politico Becker said he wanted to have sex with her while at the Philadelphia bar. This can't happen in 2020. She reported the harassment after he contacted her again for a possible 2020 campaign.

Hillary Clinton officially secured the Democratic presidential nomination over Sanders at the convention. Becker, however, said he was just tasked with reviewing "potentially questionable or damaging social media posts of potential hires".

The Vermont independent says alleged misconduct by male aides "was absolutely unacceptable and certainly not what a progressive campaign or any campaign should be about". Bernie Sanders (I-VT), forcibly kissed a female staffer shortly after the Democratic National Convention.

"Clearly we need a cultural revolution in this country to change workplace attitudes and behavior".
