Netflix's 'The Punisher' Gets Even Darker in Season 2 Trailer

Several bangs, in fact.

We get a good look at what Frank Castle has been up to since we last saw him, as well as his old buddy, Billy Russo - who has healed considerably since the last time we saw his face getting mashed in.

Netflix has revealed the trailer for the show's second season, and in it, Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) finds a new reason to start dealing out some punishment. And them in his. The show, which stars Ben Barns (Russo) and Jon Bernthal (Castle), will return to Netflix on January 18.

Former marine-turned-vigilante Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) has been living a quiet life on the road until he suddenly becomes embroiled in the attempted murder of a young girl (Giorgia Whigham). The dude is too busy fighting Jigsaw, the villain that was once Billy Russo (Ben Barnes).

New and old enemies come into his life and he is pressured to make the decision on whether or not to fully accept himself as the Punisher.

As you can hear in that trailer, they already seem to be hinting at the end of the show.

Check out some new photos from the season! Clips of the ruthless fight that went down in said venue are interspersed throughout the conversation as Bendix questions Castle on his true motivations, saying, "It's nearly like you were happy for the excuse", in reference to the character's tendency toward savagery.

The future, then, is uncertain, but there are still a couple of rays of light in the universe in the form of the third season of Jessica Jones (which will hit later this year) and the second season of The Punisher which drops on Friday 18th January.
