Oscars Will Have No Host

I'm not giving no more because it shows that it's endless, so I'm not shutting down the questions.

Hart, who had recently apologized on his SiriusXM radio show for the comments and tweets - made between 2009 and 2011 - said Wednesday that he's "done" apologizing.

The last time the evening had no host was during the 61st Academy Awards in March 1989, which began with a widely mocked musical number starring Rob Lowe and Snow White.

The entire situation has been a little absurd as just hours after being announced as the host, Kevin Hart dropped out of the running.

According to Variety, the Oscars producers will enlist "A-listers" to introduce the show's segments throughout the evening.

At least now, without the host's monologue and asides, the show will be shorter, right?

The 2019 Oscars are attempting to side-step some drama by going forward without a host.

In one of his old Twitter posts, Hart had described an actor's picture as a "gay billboard for AIDS".

"Would I ever do it? It gets no more energy from me", Hart said. "I'm over that. I'm over the moment".

"You will not hear me say anything else about it", he insisted during his GMA interview.

Hart said that he thought it was okay to talk like that because that's the way he and his friends talk to each other.

Last Friday, Ellen gave Hart an opportunity to explain his side of the story, which then caused the daytime host to catch backlash herself for supporting his possible return.

A source told PEOPLE at the time that The Academy was considering bringing Hart back as host. "But his sit-down with DeGeneres, a sympathetic friend, backfired when he was made out to be the victim of internet trolls and "haters" rather than the perpetrator of hateful remarks". In his stand-up feature Seriously Funny from 2010 he blatantly says "One of my biggest fears is my son growing up and being gay" in a bit where he basically insults the LGBTQ community. The Academy, they're unbelievable people, the offer was made, it was received, I was excited, things happened, it didn't work out the way that it should've.

Kevin Hart is moving on from the Oscars controversy, whether people like it or not.
