The news of the relationship comes shortly after Bezos, the 54-year-old founder and CEO of Amazon, revealed on Twitter that he and wife MacKenzie, 48, were divorcing.

He is now worth an estimated $137bn and this week Amazon overtook Microsoft as the world's most valuable listed company.

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has announced his divorce from wife MacKenzie - and Twitter wants to know if he will have to give her half his wealth.

In 2013, MacKenzie Bezos told Vogue Magazine that she had met Jeff when he interviewed her for a job at a hedge fund in NY.

"We have made a decision to divorce and continue our shared lives as friends", they said in the statement, which was posted to Jeff Bezos' Twitter page.

Even though they're divorcing, Bezos and Mackenzie will keep working together on projects.

Shares of Amazon dipped slightly immediately following the announcement before paring those losses. The divorce should have no material impact on the company and its shares, said analysts. Jeff Bezos Net Worth: Facts & Numbers That Will Blow Your Mind About The World's Richest Man.

Bayern's director of sport Hasan Salihamidzic said "we really want to sign him" and Sarri hit out at the Bundesliga side on Friday.

Bezos' splitting up has triggered all kinds of Amazon-related jokes.

A stockholders agreement stipulated they would vote jointly on company matters, including stock sale, but Elaine filed court documents in 2016 to get control of her shares after she was voted off the Wynn Resorts' board of directors.

She was one of the first employees of Amazon at its founding and in 2014 launched Bystander Revolution, an anti-bullying organization.

"Not talking about it to Jeff gave me an extremely rewarding carrot", she told Vogue. Meanwhile Bezos revealed on Wednesday that he and his wife have been going through a "trial separation". He declined to comment on how the divorce might affect the ownership stake.

Bezos is now considered to be the richest man in the world, with a net worth of $137.4 billion, meaning the cost of their divorce could prove to be one of the most expensive splits of all time.

It is unlikely that many details of the divorce will become public, according to New York lawyer Bernard Clair, who represents Judith Giuliani in her divorce from Rudolph Giuliani, the former New York City mayor and current lawyer for U.S. President Donald Trump.

On Wednesday, the pair announced they would be separating after 25 years of marriage and have not provided reasons for their divorce.
