In Feb. 2012, Kate made her first patronage visit to the National Portrait Gallery for a private viewing of the works of artist Lucian Freud. The first is the royal patron of the National Theatre, and the second is the royal patron of the Association of Commonwealth Universities.

The former "Suits" actress will take over two patronages from the queen, including the National Theatre (a ideal match for the former Hollywood star) and the Association of Commonwealth Universities, which offers scholarships and "life-changing educational opportunities", Kensington Palace said in a statement.

Last night Kensington Palace announced the Duchess of Sussex's first patronages as a member of the royal family - but not without a bit of a blunder.

The newlywed royal is now a patron of four organisations, Kensington Palace revealed in a press release on Thursday.

During her visit, the Duchess looked through the clothes and accessories available, picking items for potential job seekers.

Today, to kick off her new patronages, Meghan visited Smart Works HQ to meet with volunteers and women who use the service, and even helped one woman style an outfit for a job interview.

While Mayhew is a grassroots animal welfare organisation. Her Royal Highness will also take on Patronage of two additional charities as part of her official working portfolio - Smart Works and Mayhew.

Patronages are often life-long commitments, with the chosen royal having a strong interest in the subject matter.

The Duchess's new patronage is a ideal fit for the former actress, who rose to fame starring on legal drama Suits.

The flashes last only for a millisecond but they are ejected with the same level of energy the sun takes 12 months to produce. The source is from something with an extremely powerful magnetic field that produces a signal along the radio frequency band.
