Police investigating ‘reports of possible active shooter’ at NJ UPS

A gunman has taken his ex-girlfriend and another person hostage at a New Jersey UPS facility Monday morning.

The shooter is reported to have walked inside and fired multiple shots at the ceiling in Gloucester County, New Jersey.

UPS said in a statement Monday morning, "We can not provide information about the identity of people involved at this time".

Police have closed several roads in the area as they have surrounded sections of the building. Officials say no one can enter or exit school facilities.

The man who took the women hostage was shot during the rescue in Logan Township, south of Philadelphia, Fiore said.

Armed officers could be seen crouching behind one of the vehicles.

Schools in Logan Township have been placed on a modified lockdown.

"All staff and students are SAFE!" the school district said.
